GOOD RESPONSE FROM NON-RESIDENT KANNADIGAS (NRKs) FOR INTERACTIVE MEET WITH R.V DESHPANDE, HON’BLE MINISTER FOR LARGE & MEDIUM INDUSTRIES AND TOURISM.

High level delegation led by R.V Deshpande, Hon’ble Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Tourism organized a interaction meet in association with Association of Kannada Kootas of America (AKKA) at India Community Centre, Los Coches St. Milpitas. There was huge turn out from NRKs (Non-Resident Kannadigas) despite the thanks giving weekend.

Hon’ble Minister while addressing the delegates complimented the Kannadigas for their contribution to the development of silicon valley and for getting good name and fame to the State of Karnataka. Hon’ble Minister mentioned that Govt. has brought out New Industrial Policy 2014-19 and provides for an attractive incentives and concessions to NRKs. NRKs would be provided with an early seed capital fund to invest in Karnataka and facilitate them to invest in projects in compliance with current Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) policies of Govt. of India.

While addressing NRKs, Hon’ble Minister further mentioned that many cities of the developed countries have signed MoUs with Bangalore for promotion of trade, investment & culture and many more cities have envisaged similar interest. He indicated that the State is to sign similar MoUs with tier II cities and invited NRKs to invest in Karnataka.

Hon’ble Minister also mentioned that an exclusive NRKs Investment Promotion Cell is established in Karnataka Udyog Mitra in association with Karnataka NRI Forum to facilitate them with expeditious clearance of proposals and priority in land allotment and other services. While speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Minister appealed to all Non-Resident Kannadigas (NRKs) to invest in their home state and enrich the benefits and assured them that the Government will extend all required support and cooperation for implementation of their projects.

Smt. K Ratna Prabha, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to Govt. of Karnataka, Commerce and Industries Department while addressing Non-Resident Kannadigas (NRKs) appealed to invest in Karnataka and share their expertise and knowledge for the development of the State.

Mr. Raj Patil, President, AKKA and Mr. Kumar Malavalli, well-known Karnataka faces in the Silicon Valley welcomed the Karnataka delegation and said that Kannadigas in the valley are at the forefront of driving a more fruitful relationship with the State.

Mr. Gaurav Gupta, IAS, Commissioner for Industrial Development, Mr. Sampathraman, immediate past president FKCCI, Mr. K. Ravi, Vice President, FKCCI and Mr. M.C Dinesh, Senior Vice President, FKCCI and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
