Divided into 4 administrative divisions– Channapatna, Kanakapura, Ramanagara, Magadi 

Located approximately  50 km  southwest  of Bengaluru city 

Bidadi Industrial Area houses manufacturing units of Toyota, Coca Cola and a 1,400 MW combined gas-based cycle power plant 

Arkavathi, Kanva, Kaveri, and Shimsha rivers pass through the district
